If you have problems with payors or need assistance with contracting issues, visit or call CMA’s Reimbursement Helpline at 888-401-5911. CMA produces a number of resources to help practices of all sizes run smoothly. These resources include legal handbooks, HIPAA compliance toolkits, practice management guides, patient forms, and patient education materials. Promote Your Practice PNCMS serves as a patient referral service. Our staff receives calls and emails throughout the week from individuals looking for new primary or specialty physicians. PNCMS directs them to our society member doctors and/or to utilize our online member directory to find their new physician.
Legal Help CMA’s online health law library contains over 5,400 pages of On-Call documents and valuable information for physicians and their staff. Access to the library is free to members. Visit CMA’s Legal Assistance Center. CMA’s legal help line provides immediate assistance to physicians with questions on human resource, medical, regulatory or legal issues. Protect Your Interest as a Physician As the voice for doctors in Placer-Nevada counties, PNCMS advocates on behalf of physicians and patients. From giving testimony at Board of Supervisor meetings, to lobbying members of congress and the State Legislature, PNCMS ensures that physicians have a seat at the table when it comes to public policy impacting the profession of medicine.
Political Action (CALPAC) PNCMS and CMA engage candidates and legislators who support physicians’ views on issues affecting health care delivery. - CME Courses, Tracking and Credentialing – PNCMS works with medical malpractice insurance providers and local hospitals to provide you with necessary CME courses and practice workshops. CMA’s Institute for Medical Quality (IMQ) certifies CME activity for credentialing purposes to the Medical Board of California, as well as to hospitals, health plans, specialty societies, and others.
